Recently a survey found that it will take over 100 years to fix WA roads. Based on this extrapolation can Price Waterhouse experts provide info re how many centuries will it take before the WA Mental Health is fixed? This is of course a death knell for today’s mental health consumers and their carers. In my case our daughter’s mental and physical health and living conditions have deteriorated beyond repair since 5/2007 when she became a public health consumer. Above all, the Chief Psychiatrist and is CPO is arrogant and incompetent. In the corporate world he would have been sacked in 2002. Please can you explain why the WA Government denies WA Mental Health transparency and the reason it is deceitful by giving the impression that it bound by the Mental Health Act to give all power to the mental health consumer but in fact this is solely to escape accountability for the worst mental health scandal in the nation. Once again the WA Government rubber-stamps the self-serving interests of the WA public health lobbyists and UWA public health academics. Our social welfare and public health sectors are groaning due to the multiple top-heavy executives who are doctors i.e. academics who are utterly useless when it comes to managing finance and administration of these sectors. Clearly millions of dollars of Federal monies supposed to go to the coalface of mental health in WA have been syphoned off into unknown causes/ In 2006 Alan Carpenter and the Dir. of Health Neale Fong blamed WA’s phenomenal illicit drug epidemic for the systemic collapse of WA Mental Health. Final comment: Until the WA drug epidemic is fixed and mental health consumers are stopped from drinking/drugging there will be no respite for the WA mental health system; the disastrous neglect of mental health consumers will continue unabated and the health and welfare of their Carers will suffer. The latter is exactly what the WA Mental Health plots because then there will be no demands placed on the Executive Doctors.
