G’day, folks
” … the opening of a mine.” [federal Resources Minister Martin Ferguson, http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/07/10/2622728.htm ] is like running the bulls at Pamplona. All is well, so long as you avoid the horny bits …

Nuclear waste at the bottom of a mineshaft is like a piece of naval ordnance that drifts with the ocean currents. Both are out-of-sight, and out-of-mind. The waste-dumper and the mine-layer will be long gone and forgotten by the time of any tragedy.
Take all the time you like to decide, Mister Ferguson. Just don’t forget what you carry, strapped to your body. As every terrorist knows, the real decisions are the moral ones.
