I’m a nice bloke here’s 44 cents for you
The LHMU is working hard to secure better pay and conditions for more than 10,000 education assistants, school cleaners and gardeners in Western Australia’s public schools, because kids can’t learn without us.
LHMU, the Miscos
Education assistants perform a range of roles in Western Australian classrooms, including working with children with severe physical and intellectual disabilities and behavioural problems.

School cleaners and gardeners perform important roles every day, keeping the places where children learn, exercise and play both clean and safe.

Colin Barnett and the State Government want us to accept a 2.5 per cent pay rise this year. That’s just 44 cents an hour. How is that fair when they have put up water by 10 per cent, gas by 23 per cent and electricity by 25 per cent?

At $35k per year, we are already some of your lowest paid employees and we deserve a fair deal. Kids can’t learn without us.

Dear mr Barnett, You, have shown Western Australians that, you are totally out of touch with the real world.
How will 2.5% match, the increases in power, gas, rent, food etc. We are cleaners which make sure that young people can learn in a clean healthy environment.
You have a Treasurer who, thinks we should be grateful for 44c per hour or for most cleaners most cleaners $1.32 a day.
A true leader, will listen to people, the people that you promised to serve. I am not sure if it is you or Mr Buswell that is our Premier.
Will you and your ministers be taking a pay rise this year? and will it the same or will you step and say to Mr Buswell, listen to the truth come on out to my school and I will set you up with a buddy system for a day and I will pay you out of my own pocket $1.32 for your three hours work.
Please show some leadership, stop pushing 23,000 voters around who happen to earn a small amount of money.
I think your party is already on shaky ground and as for privatisation of school cleaners you must hate children, cleaners and teachers because the standard will drop, security will drop and the lowest paid workers will earn less yet again.
Come on Step up are you the leader or the puppet.
I will talk and you can contact me via the LHMU we will stand united.
