|Welcome to our newsletter. If you have any contributions you would like to make please email them to occupyperthOccupy Perth is part of a worldwide movement of individuals of different backgrounds and political beliefs dedicated to challenge social and economic inequality.
We no longer trust our elected officials to represent anyone other than their wealthiest donors.
Organized in over 2000 locations worldwide, the movement aims to fight back against the system that has allowed the richest 1% to write the rules governing an unbalanced and inequitable global economy.
We hope the following flyer will be a useful introduction to some of the issues which Occupy and other progressive movements seek to address. In particular how this struggle expresses itself here in the most geographically isolated city in the world – Perth, Western Australia.
This flyer is going out to the whole list for you to please share around. Future subscribers to the mailing list will receive this as a welcome.

AUSTRALIAN STUDENT DEBT
Incorporated (CAPA) found that a student that has debts is going to have a difficult time to own his own home, start a family and access private finances like mortgages and loans. An average twenty-something Australian usually leave home later and delay their plans of having children to find a way to pay their debts.

BANKTATORSHIP IN EUROPE
An elite banker class are engaged in a stealth campaign to solidify the power of big finance over the individual states. (Mike Whitney)

AUSTRALIAN BANKING AND INVESTMENT
Australian banks have multi-trillion-dollar exposure to derivatives. The majority of Australian banks assets are mortgage loans in Australia’s hyper-inflated property bubble, so their assets are way overstated. Australia should consider separating commercial banks from investment banks with their risky practices. (Commonly referred to as Glass-Steagall) A financial transaction tax would limit the worst excesses of the financial system. Death duties would slow family dynasties. We have been socially engineered to accept usury as normal. It rarely was accepted.

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DEBT
Australia owes foreigners a lot of money. Australian debt is big and getting bigger. Lucky country sounds like a media lie. IMF charts suggest that every country is in debt. How can that be?

MOVE YOUR MONEY
It is with banks that the moneyed interests have gained their power. Banking is fraught with usury, fraud and manipulation. Do what they do in North Dakota, start community banks. The Move Your Money campaign claims that 10 million accounts have left the large banks in the last two years.

INEQUALITY IN AUSTRALIA
Income inequality in Australia is growing. The poor suffer with health services, housing, education, child and aged services, transport and communications and social exclusion. The income parity gap is deteriorating. (St Vincent de Paul). Over a million low-income households are in housing stress. Many are spending over half their income on rent. (Acoss). Yet the top 100 CEO earn an average in excess of $3000000pa (CoreEconomics)

AUSTRALIA IN THE RED
Australia has the highest household debt to disposable income ratio in the world. They keep that from us in the media. Australia’s prosperity has been achieved by living on credit. National debt is in excess of one trillion. Credit card debt a ludicrous average of $3700. It is strangely, a debt that cannot be paid off. As money is created by loans, more loans must be created to pay off the interest. That is a bit hard to get your head around. So do your research.

Millions of people have no choice but to flee their homeland to escape conflict and persecution. Refugees have rights and these are clearly being broken in Australia. Long-term, indefinite detention is destroying the mental health of thousands of people, 90% of whom will become Australian citizens. Now what about the children!

FREEDOM OF SPEECH
is being eroded by regulation, threat of litigation, omission by big money media, bans on handheld signs, aggressive arrmed police action against peaceful protest.

JUSTICE AND POLICE
is another long sad story.
Sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, gambling, mental illness are some of the reasons people find themselves on the streets. Most caused by dysfunctional families. Around 105,000 Australians go homeless each night. In 2006, 2.2 million Australians were living below the poverty line. Perth has a high 767 homeless per 10000. There is a four year waiting list for emergency public housing whilst many investment properties lye empty across Perth.
Suggested websearch “australian homelessness”.
Many West Australians are two pay-cheques away from homelessness. Students and young people pay obscene money for modest rentals. Tax incentives for investment properties encourage investment not ownership. The better off have Mc Mansions with most rooms empty whilst the young cannot buy houses. A modest Perth house can be built by a team of ten in six weeks, but a young couple will pay many times its value over a lifetime of payments. They will delay offspring to pay debt. Beware, they are selling debt and servitude, not houses. Debtors work harder. They are compliant and eager employees.

WHO OWNS THE AUSTRALIAN RESERVE BANK ?
Australian people have no control over it. Australian Government has no control over it. The RBA does not publish accounts nor a list of share holders, nor does it pay tax. The RBA was given away in 1959. Information is well shielded, but many believe it is owned and controlled by foreign multi nationals. Return the issuing of money to the Australian public. Re-institute state banks. Stop banks from gambling with our money. Do you know anyone that is not in debt? Average household debt is about $30 000. Australian national public debt is greater than a trillion. Do you know a country that is not in debt? How can that be? So much for the lucky country and best treasurer baloney.

SUSTAINABILITY AND PROFIT
Perth is the least sustainable city in Australia and has highest level of water use. Perth is a car-dependent city with deteriorating air quality. Our houses are energy and water greedy. In one hundred years we have done massive damage to the planet. For what gain? We leave a massive mess for our offspring to sort. Can we fix it in our lifetime? It will take a lot more than a tax to fix this mess. But you could have guessed, the carbon tax will be administered by the squid. There is much evidence of rorting of sustainability grants by the 1%. We need some better action than this.
IMF AND WORLD BANK
The IMF creats new money out of thin air using “Special Drawing Rights,” a synthetic currency beyond the control of any sovereign nation. Every country the IMF and World Bank got involved in ended up with a crashed economy, a destroyed government, and sometimes in flames with riots. (Joe Stiglitz). IMF and BIS control exchange rates and push a country into debt. They sell off the local banks to foreign banks and open up to ‘free’ trade. Then they come in, pay off politicians to transfer the water systems, railways, telephone companies, nationalized oil companies. The politicians then hand these over to the IMF for nothing. They then force industry into a country that the globalists control. Effectively war by debt and ‘free trade’ under the smoke screen of “helping you” with your debt problems.
Australia floated the Australian dollar and we are now well up the list of IMF debtor nations. All hidden my media bull-dust and ‘worlds best treasurer’ nonsense. Peg our dollar as China has done. Much is written to believe that there are only five countries whose central bank is not controlled by Wall Street and associated banking interests. They are Cuba, Libya, Sudan, Iran, North Korea. Recent it included Iraq and Afghanistan. This suggests that Australia is an aggressor nation going to war for international bankers.

Suggested reading “The Web of Debt” Ellen Brown J.D.
Excerpt: Our money system is not what we have been led to believe. The creation of money has been “privatized,” or taken over by private money lenders. Thomas Jefferson called them “bold and bankrupt adventurers just pretending to have money.” Except for coins, all of our money is now created as loans advanced by private banking institutions, including the privately-owned Federal Reserve. Banks create the principal but not the interest to service their loans. To find the interest, new loans must continually be taken out, expanding the money supply, inflating prices and robbing you of the value of your money. Not only is virtually the entire money supply created privately by banks, but a mere handful of very big banks is responsible for a massive investment scheme known as “derivatives,” which now tallies in at hundreds of trillions of dollars. The banking system has been contrived so that these big banks always get bailed out by the taxpayers from their risky ventures, but the scheme has reached its mathematical limits. There isn’t enough money in the entire global economy to bail out the banks from a massive derivatives default today.
